Beautiful Hands

Kindergarten artists read "Beautiful hands by Kathryn Otoshi and Bret Baumgarten.  They traced their hands and colored them with construction paper crayons, then painted with liquid watercolors in warm or cool colors.  They observed the watercolor resist technique.

Kindergarten Leaf Rubbing Collages

 
Kindergarten Artists made leaf rubbings in our Outdoor Classroom last week.  We painted over the crayon rubbings and observed the magic of watercolor resist, when the wax in the crayon pushes away the water in the paint.  Today we used our painted leaves to create beautiful fall collages.

Lines and patterns

Kindergarten students helped make last weekend's "Country Christmas" festive with these colorful decorations. We practiced making different types of lines and patterns and experimented with the watercolor resist technique.
