Where the Wild Things Are!
First and second grade artists read "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. I explained that when a book is a "classic" it means you will want to read it over and over again. We focused on TEXTURE and considered the different textures we might find on our Wild Things and how we could draw the textures.
