Kindergarten Kandinksys

Kindergarten artists looked at Kandinsky's painting "Squares with Concentric Circles."  They used oil pastels to draw circles using many bright colors.  Then they observed the watercolor resist technique while they painted over their whole picture with liquid watercolors.  

Some of the finished pieces are on display at the Student Art Show at Helen Day Art Center in Stowe.

Waitsfield Artists were celebrated at the opening of the Helen Day Art Center Student Art Show last night in Stowe.  The show is up until May 27, so there is still plenty of time to go check it out! 

There are many amazing projects from students from other schools as well.  It is wonderful to see student artwork on display in such a professional way!  Thank you to the families who came to the opening reception.  

Waitsfield Elementary Art Show at Helen Day Art Center

Waitsfield Elementary has been invited to exhibit student artwork at the Annual Helen Day Art Center Student Art Show.  The Helen Day Art Center is in Stowe.  Each year, the Art Center hosts an art show with work from Stowe area schools, as well as one guest school.  We have been lucky enough to be selected to participate in this event.  The show will open on May 3, 2012.  More details to follow!
