First and second graders learned about positive and negative space. We used the scraps from our watercolor weaving project since they were too beautiful to throw away. We added a coat of acrylic gel medium on our collages to finish them off.

Inspired by Vermont Artist Stephen Huneck
Stephen Huneck became well-known for his woodcuts and sculptures of dogs. He even created a Dog Chapel on Dog Mountain in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He is also the author and illustrator of the best-selling "Sally" books.
Third and fourth grade artists looked at examples of Huneck's prints and read some of the "Sally"books. They came up with original dog pictures in the style of Stephen Huneck.
