Food arts residency

Catching up on what has been happening at Waitsfield School over the past couple of weeks:  we completed a whole-school Food Arts residency to learn about how food gets from the ground to our tables and experience food production first hand.

Vegetable Tops and Bottoms- Watercolor Resist

We read "Tops and Bottoms," by Janet Stevens and "Rah Rah Radishes," by April Pulley Sayre.  These two books were our inspiration to draw all different types of vegetables, both above and below ground.  We used oil pastels and watercolor and observed the watercolor resist technique.
