Form vs. Shape

As fifth and sixth grade artists explore the Elements of Art, we discussed the difference between Form and Shape. Students used wooden blocks to create a Form Still Life, then photographed it and drew it with pencil or charcoal.

Elements of Art and Principles of Design

Elements of Art Photography Project

Fifth and sixth grade artists used iPads to take photos around the school that represent the various Elements of Art and Principles of Design. We used the app Photo Collage to create assemblages of these photographs. Learning about the elements of art and the principles of design should help with all areas of art making and reflection and critique.
