I love the creative names of different colors of paint at the hardware store. Lower unit students wrapped up our unit on color mixing by creating their own paint strips. The color names are unique and descriptive!
I did a similar thing with my year 7 class. We tried to mix up colours and match them as closely as possible with the colour swatches from the hardware store.
But creating their own colours and naming them is something we didn't do! I think I will try this next semester! What a great idea. Sounds fun!..."custard yellow".... Can't wait
