Bridge Street Art Fair Planning Meeting... Tomorrow!

Although winter is upon us, we may find ourselves thinking longingly about the warmer days of Spring and the events that will draw us out from hibernation. Last year, a new Spring tradition was added to the calendar.  The Bridge Street Art Fair was started to celebrate the arts for all ages and bring our community together for a day of creativity, entertainment and fun. We are hoping to build upon the successes and lessons  of last year’s Bridge Street Art Fair and once again create a great event this Spring. We are tentatively planning for this one day celebration to take place on Saturday, May 17, 2014 on Bridge Street in Waitsfield.  Goals of this event include to celebrate the arts at all levels, from pre-school to professional, as well as support the businesses of downtown Waitsfield and strengthen connections within the community and the schools.  Last year’s Art Fair included a student art show, an art auction fundraiser, a bike parade, live music and dancing, a craft fair, artist workshops and demonstrations, food vendors and much more.
Now that the New Year is upon us, it is time to start planning this year’s fair. I would love to hear any feedback regarding last year’s event that may help us as we plan for our second annual Art Fair.  There are tasks ranging from small to large that must be completed between today and May 17th.  Last year, a small group of teachers, parents and community members put in countless hours to make this event a huge success.  An initial planning meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 4th.  Please join us to offer feedback and ideas and/or discuss what your involvement might look like this year. If you are unable to come but would like to be involved, please contact me at nmcdonough@wwsu.org
